Day 1
Arrive in Negombo
Meet your private guide at Colombo Airport and transfer to nearby Negombo to settle in after your journey.
Day 2
Negombo, Pinnawala and Habarana
Visit Negombo’s lively fish market, see the elephants at Pinnawala and explore the remarkable Dambulla Cave Temple.
Day 3
Polonnaruwa and village life
Discover the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, then experience rural life, local flavours and a traditional village lunch in Hiriwadunna.
Day 4
Sigiriya to Kandy
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the cooler morning air before travelling through the spice-growing region of Matale to Kandy.
Day 5
Kandy
Explore Sri Lanka’s historic hill capital, including the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy Lake and the colourful local market.

Nuwara Eliya and tea country

Day 8
Scenic train to Ella and Yala
Board one of the world’s most beautiful rail journeys, visit Ella and the Nine Arches Bridge, then continue south to Yala.
Day 9
Yala safari and Galle
Head into Yala National Park by jeep in search of elephants, leopards and birdlife before exploring UNESCO-listed Galle Fort.
Day 10
Hikkaduwa
Enjoy a full day to relax beside the Indian Ocean or add an experience that suits your interests.

Colombo
